Abstract

The purpose of this investigation work was the study of the profile of the electric & magnetic field along live-line workers exposed body. The live line worker is exposed to the Saudi Electricity Company (SEC) 132 KV transmission line. Practical exposure scenarios which represent actual working conditions for live-line workers have been identified for the investigation of the profile of electric and magnetic fields over the worker body. Both fields would induce current densities as well electric fields all along the worker body tissues. Both electric and magnetic fields values have been generated using EPRIpsilas workstation software. The field calculations are based on the charge simulation method for the electric field, and Biot-Savart law for the magnetic field. The analysis of the obtained profiles for each scenario has shown a consistent pattern and interesting ascending and descending behavior of both magnetic and electric fields along the body. These results are believed to contribute to the accuracy of the input data to investigate the induced electric fields and current densities in human body tissues and organs. The obtained values of external electric and magnetic fields were well below the recommended international standards limits for the scenarios considered in this study.
