Abstract

With the continuing development in the e-learning platforms, a great shift can be seen from traditional modes of education to AI-based education to provide lifelong learning prospects to the students. The implementation of e-learning technology has resulted in certain complications on academic professionals. The emphasis of this chapter is to highlight the challenges and factors that influence the usage of AI-enabled e-learning system during the COVID-19 pandemic; though the e-learning systems were introduced in many universities a few years back, the pace for its adaptability was enhanced during COVID-19, without any proper guidance and support to the teaching staff. This study seeks to investigate the challenges and identify the factors that impact the usage of e-learning systems during the COVID-19 pandemic by the teachers. This study will explore the teachers' perceptions towards e-learning and will provide contextual information on usage pattern and the nature of e-learning.
