Abstract

ABSTRACT The present work deals with distance learning or otherwise e-learning in education. The work is divided into theoretical and research parts. The theoretical part deals with the concept of e-learning, the components of e-learning and concludes with a reference to the use of e-learning in education. The research part of the thesis involves primary research conducted to investigate e-learning in education with emphasis on higher education. The research method used was quantitative and the data were gathered through a questionnaire. The research questionnaire, which was designed by the researcher, is divided into three parts: distance education, technology used in distance education, and administrative support for students in distance education. The conclusions drawn are particularly encouraging.
