Abstract

An 82-year-old woman with a remote left knee arthroplasty presented to the emergency department with a history of intermittent left knee joint swelling and pain for 3 years. Vital signs showed a pulse rate of 75 beats/min and a temperature of 36.5°C. Physical examination showed minor left knee swelling with a soft mass in the left popliteal fossa. Knee ultrasound showed a well-defined mixed echogenic mass in the popliteal fossa without vascular flow. The left popliteal artery and vein were compressed and displaced (Figure 1 and Video).
