Abstract

The largest concentration of Cambodian refugees in the United States is in Long Beach, California. Many elderly Cambodians arrive in the United States with mental and physical health problems. A myriad of social, economic and cultural factors prevent them from obtaining available health services. The Older Southeast Asian Health Project developed cultural bridges to accessing health care for older Cambodians, bridges that are described here.
