Abstract

In recent years there has been an increased emphasis on violence across the life course, with a re-emerging focus on the abuse and neglect of older people. Risk taking, risk assessment and risk management are also emerging as necessary methods of managing health and welfare interventions. A critical analysis of both topics would facilitate an assessment of the contribution that effective risk management can provide within intervention strategies in situations of elder abuse and neglect.
