Abstract

Purpose of review Elbow arthroscopy is an effective and safe method in the management of a variety of elbow disorders. The purpose of this review is to briefly discuss the basics of elbow arthroscopy and to highlight recent literature and techniques that demonstrate the expanding utility of arthroscopy in treating elbow disorders. Recent findings Advances in arthroscopic surgery and equipment over the last several years have made elbow arthroscopy an effective and safe alternative for the management of a variety of elbow disorders. Common themes include treatment of benign bone lesions, fractures, degenerative arthritis and posterior lateral impingement. Also, long-term follow-up for arthroscopic treatment of lateral epicondylitis has shown its durability and effectiveness. Summary These techniques and studies emphasize the increasing preference for elbow arthroscopy made by surgeons to treat patients with a variety of elbow disorders.
