Abstract
In this paper, the elasto-plastic analysis of corrugated-core sandwich panels is developed. The developed study is based on the incremental theory of plasticity with the initial incremental plastic moments calculated by the iterative procedure. The yield criterion is proposed for the structurally orthotropic 2D sandwich plates. It combines Hill's criterion for naturally orthotropic material and Ilyushin's criterion for isotropic plates and shells. Applying the developed approach, a closed-to analytic solution is obtained for a rectangular corrugated-core sandwich plate. The numerical examples presented demonstrate the efficiency and accuracy of the proposed technique.
