Abstract

The presence of an elastomeric lining within the mold enabled preparation of porosity-free specimens of acrylic resin even when heating rates were far more severe than those normally used in dental laboratory procedures. The mechanisms whereby elastomeric liners prevent porosity under such conditions was investigated.
