Abstract

Elastofibroma dorsi is a benign tumor, often located on the chest wall at the infrascapular region. It often affects women betweenthe fifth and seventh decade of life, and bilateral involvement is very frequent. Its clinical presentation varies from an asymptomatic lesion accidentally discovered by complementary image studies (ultrasound, computed tomography, magnetic resonanceimage), through the development of mild symptoms, sometimes not well defined, even local pain or functional disability.Through a clinical vignette, the author of this article reviews the outstanding features of this entity as a rare cause of chest pain.
