Abstract

1. We worked out a theory of shear of triorthogonally reinforced media with interphase cracks in the structure of strands and on the interface between the strand and the matrix. 2. We discovered that the shear moduli decrease to a small fraction when the size and concentration of the cracks increase. 3. The experimental data and the theory are matched by comparing the calculations of the secant moduli with the experimentally measured tangents of the angles of slope of the diagram of the mechanical state of the medium.
