Abstract

Experimental data (1) on elastic scattering of π -mesons on protons with energyE=1.3 GeV have been analysed. It is shown that from the analysis of their angular distribution it is possible to determine the root-mean-square radius and to get the data about the distribution of matter inside the nucleon. The root-mean-square « pion radius » is found to be equal to ✓ 〈r2〉=(0.82±0.06) · 1013 cm. In conclusion a possible experimental criterion of the existence of an elementary length is considered.
