Abstract

The mechanical performance of composite laminated plate with different loading conditions was investigated. Composite structures consisting of woven galvanized wire as a fiber and F2.12 low density polyethylene (LDPE) as a thermoplastic matrix were manufactured by hot-press moulding. The mechanical properties were experimentally determined. The effect of orientation angle and symmetric-antisymmetric structure was investigated. An elastic-plastic numerical solution was carried out using Finite Element Technique (FEM) for some iteration numbers. Residual stresses and expansion of plastic zone have been illustrated in tables and figures.
