Abstract

The paper is concerned with the elastic-plastic bending of a uniformly loaded and built-in circular plate made of a nonhardening elastic-plastic material having Mises' yield condition and Hencky's stress-strain relation. In the present paper, ordinary foundamental equations of purely elastic range of the plate were replaced by using Sokolovsky's representation and a newly introduced parameter representing the appearance of plastic range. Our ordinary nonlinear simultaneous differential equations were numerically integrated by using electronic computer NEAC-2203. The results of the calculation were compared with already published results of limit-analysis. Physical propriety of the results was also justified by the method of Budiansky.
