Elastic deuteron scattering on the even Nd isotopes

Abstract

Elastic scattering cross sections for 12 MeV deuterons on the even isotopes of Nd, 142 ≦ A ≦ 150, have been measured from 15° to 150°, using a solid state counter in connection with a magnetic spectrograph. The results have been analysed in terms of the optical model. The optical model parameters were extracted using an optical model automatic search code. A systematic behaviour of the optical model parameters, going from the spherical 142Nd to the deformed 150Nd, was found if search on four parameters, U, W, a and a′, was done.
