Abstract

The angular distributions of elastic and inelastic scattering of 12.8 deuterons to the first few excited levels of 27Al and 28Si nuclei have been measured. The elastic and first inelastic (0 + → 2 +) excitation in silicon are analysed by the strong coupling optical model and applied to the corresponding excitation in aluminium using the excited core model.
