Abstract

Educational interventions aimed at professionals can be useful to prevent falls in hospitalized children, since they provide a better understanding of the fall phenomenon, in order to contribute to the development of the best health practices. The objective of this study is: educational technology in an educational video format about fall prevention in hospitalized children aimed at health professionals. This study aims to: Elaborate and validate educational technology in a video format aimed at health professionals about the prevention of falls in hospitalized children. And as specific objectives: identify relevant themes for the elaboration of educational technology in video format aimed at health professionals about the prevention of falls in hospitalized children; develop educational technology in the form of video aimed at health professionals about the prevention of falls in hospitalized children; Validate with judges-specialists the educational technology in an elaborate video format; Validate educational technology in targeted video format. Methodology: study of the elaboration and validation of educational technology in a video format, of the methodological research type, carried out in five stages. Step 1: Identification of the themes from the review of the literature and the Protocol of prevention of fall of the Ministry of Health. Step 2: Elaboration of the educational video in 2D animation, from the previous stage; Step 3: Validation of the educational video with judges-specialists in children's health, patient safety and social communication, with a minimum agreement index of 70%, in a virtual environment; Step 4: Validation of the educational video with target audience, from 12 health professionals of child health care of the Internal Patients Unit of an Institute of Pediatrics of Rio de Janeiro, minimum agreement rate of 70%. Results: The themes emerged from 12 articles found by integrative literature review and the Protocol of fall prevention of the Ministry of Health: definition of fall; risk factors for falls associated with childhood and hospitalization; prevention of falls in hospitalized children; interventions in the face of the fall. From this, video was elaborated in 2D animation. It was evaluated by 13 expert judges, with an agreement of suitability of the material of 86%. Item 2.9, regarding the adequate size of titles and topics, was adequate according to the judges' orientation, to obtain a 69.2% concordance index. After suitability of the material, validation with the target audience resulted in a concordance index of 99.3%, and no new material adequacy was required. Being this video a valid TE for education / training of health professionals of / in the health care of the child. Conclusion: Educational technology based on literature review and fall prevention protocol, in 2D video format, is valid for the education of health professionals who work with children, aiming at preventing them from falling in the hospital environment
