Abstract

Through four steps, this article proposes some guidelines to a liturgical Theology seeing the Ritual Symbol not only giving rise to a theological thought but also shaping it. First of all, it considers the liturgical Movement's heritage, giving as example the proposals of three Spanish theologians: Isidre Goma i Tomas (1869-1940), Carlos Castro Cubells (1921-1998) and Evangelista Vilanova (1927-2005). In second place, it puts the liturgical question, in such a way that it could keep in relationship the pragmatic and the reflexive dimensions. Third, it makes an option for a dialectical epistemology, presenting, finally, its methodological consequences: the challenge of the interdisciplinary encounter between ritual Anthropology, philosophical Hermeneutics and liturgical Theology.
