Abstract

This article examines the power realignments that have taken place in the international system since the end of the Cold War. To illustrate this classic the author uses classic theories in the field of international relations to analyze the historical events since 1989. This study is broken up into three periods starting with the fall of the Berlin Wall; the terrorist attacks of 2001 and the Brexit referendum favoring the UK withdrawal from the European Union.
