Abstract
In the context of new ruralities, elements related with those geographies are valorized and (re) introduced in the market as heritage and tourist products, from public as well as private sector as the main actors involved. Nevertheless, the agency of local communities is promoting the construction and negotiation of new participatory spaces and management modalities, allowing local residents to position themselves as active actors of those processes. In this article we are interested in discuss these issues by two cases of study located in Buenos Aires province (Argentina): Exaltacion de la Cruz and San Andres de Giles. Through tourist and heritage valorization of the Buenos Aires pampa countryside, we analyze in both districts how revitalization processes emerge, redefining sense of place.
