Given these events, we are faced with the question: What is it that makes us human? It seems that in a context like the one in which Colombia finds itself, supported by official forms of evil as a possibility of a cultural ethos which makes the most perverse actions plausible in a devastating minimization of moral esponsibility, necessary for building a just and peaceful society. This paper makes an effort to explore the problem of evil in the context of violence in Colombia and account for some aspects of philosophical reflection on evil, suffering and the meaning of life; the context is taken as the armed conflict in Colombia and the stories of its protagonists.
