Abstract

This article is about the Lienzo de Analco, a pictorial document elaborated in the second half of the 16th century by the natives in the neighborhood of Analco, in the Villa Alta of San Ildefonso, to show their participation as allies of the Spaniards in the conquest of the Sierra Norte de Oaxaca, Southeast Mexico. The objective of this text is to advance in the results regarding the work of identifying some scenes that are represented in the document. For this, early sources elaborated by diverse actors involved in this conquest are used, as well as colonial maps.
