Abstract
Este ensayo se atreve a hipotetizar que los hermanos Christopher y Jonathan Nolan se inspiraron en el pensamiento de Joseph Ratzinger sobre la esperanza al escribir el guion de la película Interstellar. Se muestran seis coincidencias conceptuales entre la película de 2014 y la carta encíclica Spe Salvi publicada en 2007 y se proveen citas textuales para ello. Las seis convergencias encontradas versan sobre los siguientes temas: el progreso científico y el progreso moral, la naturaleza social de la esperanza, la confianza, el amor como salvación, el reencuentro con los seres queridos más allá del tiempo, la victoria del bien y la eternidad.
