Abstract

THE GIBRALTAR PEOPLE’ S INTERIOR EXILE AND THE ORIGIN OF THE CITY OF SAN ROQUE Having left Gibraltar City en masse after the English occupation, the Gibraltarian people prepared to reorganize after a time of unrest and uncertainty. The choice of a suitable location for the “transferred Gibraltar” was the immediate task. However, such a decision was not without controversy within the Town Council.
