Abstract

Existen varias modalidades de actividad muscular, las cuales se dividen en: contracciones concéntricas (acortamiento de las fibras musculares); las contracciones excéntricas (aumento de la tensión en un estado de alargamiento de las fibras musculares). Por último aparecen las contracciones isométricas que emplean un aumento del tono muscular sin cambiar el rango articular inicial. Tanto la modalidad excéntrica como la concéntrica forman parte de las contracciones isotónicas
