Abstract

The seale of valuing the fantasy type prose of Amado Nervo can be attributed -from this article author's standpoint- both to the boo· ming prestige that surrounded Nervo 's poetry and to the first plain that Dario and Lugones' narrative held in founding the fantasy type gender in Spain and Latin America. In light of this critic atmosphere, Chaves emphasizes the fantastic traits in the short stories and novels by Nervo, and quotes in closing: the specific way in which he manages to assemble the pieces (yet, not for its arder), Nervo possesses originality in the modernist fantastic sphere, that is why, re-reading him is desirable and giving him his well deserved place in the list of Hispanic-American writers who dealt with mysterious matters in their prose is grantable':
