Abstract

The changes that are happening, in the last few decades, around the logic of the market, the new modes of production and the flows of capital, have their reciprocal transformation of our territories. On the one hand, globalization tends to cancel the spatial correlation of these processes, homogenizing the geographical landscape, but on the other hand, the local -in relation to their values and characteristics- is positioned as a key strategic component in this context. Thus, the local-global dialectical pair, although it is seen as conflicting dichotomy, also is a key joint to confront and understand the issues present in our contemporary territories, in order to improve the living conditions of the whole population.
