Abstract

Populism is a política! category, that not only is part of the historical reflection, but it is a characterization of the political culture very common to many states, where political disenchant is very well- nown. This way, it tends to dismantle one of the most important discoveries of western political modernity: the citizenship. At present, the populisms are characterized by other technological ingredients, the mass media and the Internet among others, with the objective of handling of collective consciousness, which at the moment, according to the postmodern language, would be called Neo-populisms.
