Abstract

The devonian of Bolivia: bio and chronostratigraphy Abstract Preliminary results of recent carried out simultaneously investigations on late Silurian and Devonian palynomorphs and megafaunas from Bolivia provide new stratigraphic data and improved correlations. The Bolivian Devonian succession ranges from the Lochkovian to the Famennian with some gaps and condensed levels in the Pragian and the Emsian. For the first time palynological data enables the standard Devonian time scale to be applied to the Bolivian succession and confirms some of the ages previously suggested by the megafauna.
