Abstract

This paper deals of the holy gohst, monasteryfrom its foundation up to its desamortizacion in 1835, from the Espiritu Santo(Holy Ghost) monastery of the less Regular Priest Order, which was a congregation of priests who came to Seville in 1624. After an early settlements in different places of the city, they founded their regular house in Santa Maria “collacion”, where neighbouring houses were being joined to build a huge block between Borceguineria’s street (current Mateos Gagos), Meson del Moro, Ximenez de Enciso y Cruces (current Fabiola). It is related to an updating, thanks to the existing documentation, of the artistic heritage which hoarded throughout more than two centuries of history, where it is stated the interventions of architects, sculptors and painters, among others.
