Abstract

Summary: Through a combination of pieces of El quadern gris which are the account of a route on foot, this article focuses its study on the thematic and structural elements conferring unity to these sequences. Furthermore, from the comparison of Josep Pla’s handwritten version with the 1966 Complete Works edition, the article points out the composition and language strategies applied by Pla when giving definitive form to the original texts. Finally, the paper explores the continuity of this pattern – or the lack of it – within the author’s entire work.
