Abstract

In this modern era literary works are grouped into four genres, namely: prose, poetry, drama, and film. The purpose of this research is to uncover the phenomenon of environmental conservation of the film Avatar. This environmental conservation phenomenon involves the representation of the green movements carried out by the Navi tribe in safeguarding the nature of Planet Pandora, the role of the natural environment in James Cameron's Avatar film the source of the Navi Tribe's life, and the environmental values ​​reflected in the life of the Navi people. This research is descriptive qualitative research. This study uses Greg Garrard's ecocritical approach. The source of the data comes from the text in the Avatar movie that has been transcribed from the conversation dialog. Data were analyzed using the workings of Miles and Hubermen.The findings of this study are that Film Avatar has environmental education for students, namely: The green movements carried out by the Navi tribe towards the nature of Planet Pandora began to be disturbed and disturbed since there were activities carried out by the RDA to take the energy source of ubnitonium, the natural environment in James Cameron's Avatar film had an influence big as a source of life. Nature is the source of the survival of the Navi tribe on Planet Pandora, and the values ​​described by the Navi tribe that are in accordance with ecological wisdom are the values ​​of behavior, attitude patterns, and mindset. The Navi tribe has the belief that their life in this world is to maintain the eiwa mandate, 'God' which is to protect and preserve the nature of Planet Pandora.
