Abstract

SynopsisThe ejected-electron spectra arising from the decay of the 5p5n1l1n2l2n3l3 autoionizing states in Ba atoms were precisely measured for electron impact energies between 15 and 20 eV. The excitation threshold of the 5p6 subshell was evaluated at 15.63 ±0.05 eV. The excitation thresholds and decay paths of the lowest states in 5p55d6s2 and 5p55d26s configurations were determined.
