Abstract
A new species of the family Laophontidae is described: Paralaophonte panamensis n. sp. from the Pacific coast of Panama. Until now the systematic status of ?Laophontina spec. is uncertain. Afrolaophonte schmidti, Klieonychcamptoides itoi, and Laophontina triarticulata ( = syn. Galapalaophonte pacifica) have already been recorded earlier from the Galapagos Islands and from South Carolina, respectively.
