Abstract

Different kinds of movement and meditation rooted in China, are known as qigong. The characteristic signs of all qigong types are a perception of acupuncture points in conjunction with a special body position. According to Chinese philosophy motion and tranquillity are analogies to Yin and Yang. To feel both aspects a certain posture is necessary. Over the years of qigong training not only a noticeable improvement of the whole body posture but also a perceptible alteration of attitude can be observed. So qigong influences the human being in its entirety.
