Abstract
Summary The trichome cells of Salvinia auriculata show a biphasic dose-response dependence of the degree of plasmolysis (in 0.4 M KNO3) on the cytokinin concentration. Correlation between the changes of the degree of plasmolysis and potassium movements in and out of the cells seems evident. Results obtained with single cells are compared with previously published data on hypocotyles of Helianthus annuus (Sonka 1975).
