Abstract

A Roman stone monument was recently discovered in the village Jebucu (Sălaj County). > e piece is the fragmentary base of a statue of Jupiter, and should have been made by a provincial stonecutter, under the infl uence of the patterns from the town of Napoca. > e inscription is partially preserved, and one could reconstruct it. It has to be dated in the last years of Septimius Severus’ reign. It attests a vicus Rucconium in the West of Dacia Porolissensis; only a fraction of its people was Roman citizens in that moment.
