Abstract

Republication of a block from Coptos in the Cairo Museum which has been decorated and inscribed on three different occasions during the New Kingdom and the 21st dynasty. The most important inscription is the biography of a priest Wenennefer, which includes a detailed description of his education and service in the cult of Min. The reading of this biography is quite difficult, many passages have been misunderstood in the previous publication. Moreover, the inscription has been dated to the 21st dynasty, but it was surely written in the Ramesside period, most probably during the 19th dynasty.
