Abstract
A special cathode ray tube is described which, in connection with a moiré grating system, permits the digital read out in length measurements 10 times finer than with the usual technique. The maximal attainable accuracy and velocity of length measurement are given. The device is suitable for precise nuclear emulsion measurements.
