Abstract

On 22nd April, 1990 several Plain Tigers, Danaus chrysippus, were seen flying on a sandy semi-desert slope NE Tozeur, Central Tunisia. The first Tunisian record of this southern species is only from July, 1952 (a mass influx all over the country). Later on, the Plain Tiger has been recorded in December, 1979 (also hatching individuals) and October, 1980.
