Abstract
A new soft magnetic Ni-Fe alloy developed especially for unipolar pulse operation is described. Owing to its flat hysteresis loop and the resultant low remanence the range through which induction can be varied is considerable (Δ B ≈ 1.3 T). At the same time the alloy exhibits a high pulse permeability μ p and therefore lends itself particularly well to applications in power electronics.
