Abstract

Two full parliamentary terms later, and we face an NHS quite different from that left to us by Stephen Dorrell. If a week is a long time in politics, eight years is certainly a long time in NHS management. In career terms, eight years has meant several job moves for most managers; a proliferation of opportunities for many; and rapid exits for some.
