Abstract

In this research article, eight ports mm-wave multiple inputs multiple outputs (MIMO) antenna with hybrid techniques for anti-collision radar sensing application is presented. The mm-wave MIMO antenna is used for Doppler radar Sensing application. The design is printed on Roger RT/5880 with the height of 0.8 mm. The hybrid techniques consist of meander line parasitic and defective ground structure (DGS); used for suppression of electromagnetic coupling. The impedance bandwidth of proposed design is 4.3 GHz, the reflection coefficient (Sij ∈ i = j) is less than −10 dB in the range of 23.3 GHz and 27.6 GHz and mutual coupling (Sij ∈ i ≠ j) is less than −26 dB in given range. The peak gain is equal to 8.6dBi, envelope correlation coefficient (ECC) < 0.0004, multiplexing efficiency <−0.5 dB and diversity gain (DG) >9.99 dB. The MIMO antenna is designed and optimized in computer simulation technology (CST) studio. Furthermore, MIMO antenna is evaluated in term of reflection coefficient, mutual coupling, multiplexing efficiency, ECC, peak gain and DG for experimental validation.
