Abstract

The 1982 Nobel Prize for Physiology or Medicine was awarded jointly last month at a ceremony in Stockholm to two Swedish biochemists, Sune Bergstro¨m and Bengt Samuelsson, and the British pharmacologist, John Vane. The award honours their contributions to prostaglandin research.
