Abstract

Based upon a “psychological causality” model, it was hypothesized that knowledge about an individual's identity status could be used to predict his or her ego stage development as efficiently as ego stage development could be used to predict identity status. Using a two‐point data collection strategy and cross‐lagged correlational analysis, it was observed that knowledge about either one was equally good in predicting the other
