Abstract

In this study, a composite of eggshell supported Cu doped FeOx nanoparticles(FeCuOx/eggshell) was synthesized using a facile co-precipitation method, morphologies and properties were systematically characterized. Meanwhile, catalytic performance of the FeCuOx/eggshell & peroxymonosulfate (PMS) system for carbamazepine (CBZ) degradation, effect of operation parameters and water matrices on CBZ removal in this system were evaluated. Besides, Reactive Oxygen Species (ROSs) responsible for the oxidation of CBZ were identified through series of experiments, and a possible degradation pathway of CBZ was proposed. Furthermore, possible reaction mechanism, possible decomposition pathways were proposed. Evolution of CBZ solution toxicity was also evaluated. In addition, installation of FeCuOx/eggshell into PAN membrane has been proved to improve stability and reduce metal release.
