But in many cases, it seems that these opportunities often go unnoticed. In any event, it is clear that the members of some EFIS-associated societies rarely participate in these programs. In an attempt to remedy this situation, EFIS is seeking to enlist a representative from each of its affiliated national societies, a voice that can proactively interact with junior immunologists at a local level to promote EFIS programs and initiatives. As such, EFIS welcomes nominations from its societies for Ambassadors: young scientists who can commit time and effort to informing their co-member peers about opportunities offered by EFIS and the European Journal of Immunology. Closely related to this, there will be a questionnaire/survey that EFIS will be circulating to member societies to gather information about the situation of immunologists throughout Europe. This effort, designed to identify and to embrace differences from country to country and learn from each other's success, aims to contribute to the success of European immunology for all. It is hoped that this action will also impact significantly on initiatives EFIS has undertaken to improve the status of Women in Immunology 3.
