Abstract

We consider the problem of computing the bit error rate (BER) of direct-sequence spread-spectrum multiple-access communications systems. In particular, we illustrate the use of a modified Monte Carlo technique, known as importance sampling, for the efficient and accurate simulation of asynchronous direct-sequence based code division multiple access (CDMA) systems employing maximum length signature sequences and Gold codes for a variety of system parameters. >
