Abstract

We propose a fast and memory-efficient semi-analytical current estimate for arrays of long thin-strips under normal plane-wave incidence. We show the very drastic time reduction for computing the radar cross section (RCS) with little error as compared to the time-consuming solution using the method of moments (MoM). Moreover, the adoption of this current estimate as an initial value leads the iterative search of the solution in fewer steps for those cases where the preconditioning techniques cannot be applied. © 2005 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
