Abstract

This letter presents three measurement approaches for three-dimensional (3-D) inverse synthetic aperture radar (ISAR) imaging of rotating objects on a pylon in compact antenna test range. The proposed measurement approaches are based on the backprojection algorithm and the concept of interferometric ISAR. Point spread functions (PSFs) are simulated to assess the performance of the proposed approaches. Simulation results show an improvement of up to 87% reduction in measurement time while maintaining an 8-dB peak sidelobe ratio (PSLR).
